The Frenchie

Okay, Bitch. This is what you’re gonna need!

  • 1 loaf of French bread (Fresh from the bakery is better but if you have a regular loaf of bread, that’ll work too.)

  • 3 eggs

  • 2 tablespoons of Cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar

  • 3 tablespoons of butter

  • Pinch of salt

  • Confectioners (powdered) sugar

  • 1 /2 cup of almond milk

  • Strawberries

  • Blueberries

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

How to cook this…

Now, grab a medium bowl, combine 3 eggs, 2 tablespoons of cinnamon, a pinch of salt, 1/2 cup of almond milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Use a whisk(a fork will work too) to beat the mixture until all ingredients are mixed thoroughly.

Now place the bowl to the side. Let that shit chill while we move on to the next step.

Next, take your loaf of bread and lay it down on it’s side. Use a serrated knife to cut slices into an inch. If you are taking the shortcut and using a regular loaf of bread this step doesn’t apply!

Set your cook-top on medium. Prepare your skillet or pan by melting 3 tablespoons of butter.

While the butter is melting, let’s dip that thang.

Dip your bread slices in the egg mixture. Make sure you dip every side of the bread. You want the mixture to saturate the bread but don’t drown it. *If you let it sit in the mixture for too long, it will be too soggy.

After you dip the bread in the mixture, sprinkle brown sugar on each side.

Place the dipped bread slice in your skillet and cook it for 3 to 5 minutes on medium high. Use a spatula to check the color of the French toast on the bottom. Once it’s a deep brown, flip it over and allow the other side to cook the same way. Remove the French toast from the pan and place on the plate.

Bitch, you know you’re extra!

It’s not a Frenchie without the toppings. Sprinkle powdered sugar over your French toast and top it off with cut as many sliced up strawberries and blueberries.
