Sweet Honey Salmon

Grab all of this ish!

  • 3 cut pieces of cleaned salmon

  • ½ cup of honey

  • ½ tsp of crushed red pepper

  • 1 tsp of minced garlic

  • 2 tsp of garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp of brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp of butter

  • Juice from one lemon wedge

  • Salt (to taste)

In a large bowl, combine ½ cup of honey, ½ tsp of crushed red pepper, 1 tsp of minced garlic, 2 tsp of garlic powder, 2 pinches of salt, 1 tsp of brown sugar and the juice from 1 lemon wedge. Stir with a spatula until ingredients are evenly distributed. Add your salmon to the bowl and mix it with your hands. The fish should be completely coated in the honey mixture. Put the bowl to the side.

Grab a pan large enough to hold all of the fish. Turn your stove top to medium and melt 1 tbsp of butter. Once the butter is melted and covers the entire bottom of the pan, place your salmon in. If the fish doesn’t sizzle when you put it in the pan, turn up the heat a little. Now, add 3 to 4 tsp. of the honey mixture to the pan. (Tip: Drizzle the honey sauce over some rice) Cook each side of the fish 4 minutes each. The cook time may be adjusted depending on how thick or thin the fish is. NOTE: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU FLIP OVER THE SALMON. YOU DON’T WANT TO BREAK IT. USE A BIG ASS SPATULA!! Once the fish is done on both sides, remove the pan from the stove.

I paired my fish with rice and asparagus. If you’re not a fan of those sides, feel free to switch it up.
